Welcome to
 Main Street Writers...!

Offering Creative Writing Workshops in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, we help people invite, recognize, and honor the stories of their lives.

An Affiliate of Amherst Writers & Artists, Main Street Writers workshops are founded on the belief that everyone is creative, everyone has a story to tell, and everyone can write. If you can talk to a close friend, you can write.

You can read more about this approach and our activities on the Main Street Writers Blog, here....

New: Wednesday Afternoon Series

Join us on a meander down the cobblestone streets of Orvieto.  Discover layers of history through ancient architecture, and pass through the narrow doorways of local shopkeepers. Experience the quiet solitude of an olive grove, and the exuberant clamor of the marketplace.

In between explorations, tap the stories of your life and reflect on journeys, both inner and outer, through creative writing. Discover strengths you already bring to writing, and build on them throughout the week.

Enjoy the solitude of writing and the out-loud joy of connecting with fellow writers, traveling companions, and the people of Orvieto.  More... http://www.adventuresinitaly.net/f11dunn.html

Do you like to write?  Would you like to give it a try...?

Writing begins with a story - and we are all natural story-tellers. Learn how to identify the skills you already have, and build on them as you explore the world of creative writing.

Poetry, fiction, memoir, journal entries - dreams, questions, lists, post-cards: all these forms and more offer a direct line into the stories of our imagination and our lives.

Join us! Explore new approaches and discover new perspectives in a supportive community of writers.  Visitors welcome - More...

Kathy Dunn has led Main Street Writers Workshops for over 17 years.  An Affiliate of Amherst Writers & Artists, she has also led writing labs in elementary and high school settings, and served as a consultant to the Mass Migrant Education program. Her work appears in literary journals, magazines, and anthologies.

You're welcome to visit one time as a guest, no fee. Writing is a very individual process; seeing how it feels to write in a particular setting often helps people decide whether it's a good match for them.  Call or email for further information.
